I'm Hokulani Akana. I'm a Lahaina-born wedding photographer who relocated to Kahului after the 2023 fires and reopened my Lahaina studio in late 2025. The studio is small. The work feels different now — every wedding I shoot on the west side feels like a kind of resilience.
I came up shooting weddings under a Wailea-based mentor for five years before going independent in 2021. My approach is documentary, my pacing is unhurried, and I try not to be in the way. I'll always tell you when I think the timeline is wrong for the light.
Galleries deliver in 5-6 weeks. A portion of every wedding fee in 2026 goes to the Maui Strong Fund. I am Maui-based and I do not travel inter-island for weddings.

Booked dates are pulled from the vendor's own calendar. If your date is open, you can request a quote — they'll confirm in their reply. Most events lock in 2–6 months ahead in Hawaiʻi; for May–August dates, sooner is safer.
