Hilo-based photographer. Solo. I shoot weddings on the Hāmākua Coast and in Volcano, family portraits in Hilo and Honokaʻa, and the occasional Mauna Kea sunrise elopement. Most of my couples find me because they want a Hawaiʻi Island wedding without a Big Island wedding-industrial-complex vibe.
I'm not chatty. I don't pose much. What I bring is patience — I'll spend an hour scouting a venue before you arrive, and I'll wait twenty minutes for the right cloud to move off the mauna. The galleries are quieter than what mainland photographers tend to produce here. I think that suits the place.
Most weddings I shoot solo. For larger events I'll bring a second shooter from a small bench of trusted Hilo photographers. Galleries: 6 weeks.
