Every booking helps Hawaiʻi recover

Manawaleʻa is the Hawaiian word for generosity: a generous heart, the act of giving freely. In response to the March 2026 historic flooding, roughly two trillion gallons of rainwater across multiple Hawaiian islands, Hanahou is currently committing up to $1,000 to organizations supporting Hawaiʻi flood relief. As Hanahou grows, this commitment grows with us.

How it adds up

  • Vendor signups
    5× $5 per vendor
    = $25
  • Planner signups
    5× $1 per planner
    = $5
  • Bookings confirmed
    2× $10 per booking
    = $20
Where the support goes

Manawaleʻa donations go to organizations supporting Hawaiʻi flood relief

We disburse quarterly to qualifying 501(c)(3) organizations doing active flood relief and recovery work in Hawaiʻi. Multiple organizations may receive funds from each batch. Records are available on request.

Donations accrue the moment a signup or booking lands. They're paid out in batches; this page reflects committed dollars. Settled batches appear in the receipts section below as they post.

Payouts

Receipts as batches settle

Donations log the moment a signup or booking lands; the founder pays them out in batches off-platform. Each settled batch posts here with the date and amount.

First batch posts after launch

Donations are accruing now and will appear here once the first batch settles.
Why now

2 trillionGallons of rain · March 2026

Historic flooding across multiple Hawaiian islands displaced families, damaged infrastructure, and disrupted the kinds of celebrations Hanahou exists to support. Recovery is a long effort.

Manawaleʻa is Hanahou's first formal commitment to that recovery. It is small relative to the need, but it is real, measurable, and tied to the everyday work of the platform: a vendor activated, a planner saving their first vendor, a booking confirmed.
