What's new

Built in the open

Small, careful improvements, most weeks. Here's what's landed lately, in my own words.

    Vendors

A profile that works while you're on the job

Your Hanahou listing now tells you how it's doing: who's viewing you, where they came from, how fast you reply, and what to fix next. There's a share kit with copy-paste posts and a branded card, so your network can point straight at your profile. The idea is simple. While you're shooting a wedding or running a tasting, your profile keeps working.

An events calendar for the islands

There's always something happening in Hawaiʻi. The events calendar pulls together what's coming up across the islands, you can RSVP, and you can drop any event straight onto your own calendar. A small map on the homepage shows where the month is busiest.

    Community

    Manawaleʻa

In response to the historic spring flooding across multiple Hawaiian islands, a portion of platform activity now goes to organizations supporting Hawaiʻi flood relief. Every time a vendor is approved, a planner signs up, or a booking is confirmed, Hanahou commits a small amount. The ledger is public, and disbursement is quarterly to qualifying 501(c)(3) organizations.

    The Journal

Honest field guides to the events Hawaiʻi actually throws: the first-birthday lūʻau, the graduation party, the wedding. Written for people doing the planning for the first time, with the parts nobody tells you about.

  5. April 2026
    Trust

Reviews are tied to real bookings

A review on Hanahou comes from someone who actually booked the vendor and had the event happen. No drive-by ratings, no scripted testimonials. When you read a vendor's reviews here, you're reading from people who hired them for a real day.

  6. April 2026
    Platform

    Hanahou is open

Find Hawaiʻi event vendors by island, by category, and by the kind of gathering you're throwing. Reach out, get a quote, check availability, and book. No commission on the booking. The vendor keeps what they earn, and the conversation is yours.

Your feedback shapes what lands next

If you're on the platform now, what you tell me decides what gets built next. Every note gets read by me personally.
